Configure it for your business

Studio > Projects > Settings

Kite settings shape the delivery stages that define how work moves through your business.

  1. Stage names and order

Name each delivery stage and arrange the sequence your team follows.

Makes the board feel native to your own delivery method.

  2. Task completion gates

Enable the All tasks must be marked done requirement for the stages that represent completed delivery.

Keeps the board aligned with the work your team has actually completed.

  3. Invoice payment gates

Enable the Invoice must be paid requirement where a commercial milestone belongs before the next stage.

Connects financial confidence to project progression.

  4. Project-level sign-off

Choose Require client sign-off before closing when a project needs an explicit approval step.

Creates a clear finish line for valuable client work.

Getting started

  • Define your stages once in Kite → Settings (e.g., Backlog, In progress, Review, Done).
  • Create your first project manually, or accept a Rook quotation to auto-create one.
  • Invite Flock members to a project so tasks can be assigned.

Key settings

  • Stages: fully customizable per your workflow — add, remove, or reorder columns.
  • Default assignee: set who new tasks are assigned to by default.
  • Client visibility: choose which stages a Cove client can see for their project.

Daily workflow

  • Open the board and move cards through stages as work progresses.
  • Attach files and comments directly to a task so context never gets lost.
  • Use the stage filter to see only what's actionable today.

What updates next

An approved Rook quotation or a completed Quill signing workflow can create the matching Kite project. Project stage changes and client-shared comments flow through to the client experience in Cove.
